BHINDI RAITA

Bhindi raita is a refreshing side dish that is super easy to prepare. You can make this healthy accompaniment with a few common ingredients in less time.

Ingredients

  • 100 grams Okra (Lady's finger)
  • 1 cup yogurt
  • 1 small onion finely chopped
  • 1 green chili finely chopped
  • ½ cup coriander leaves finely chopped
  • ¼ teaspoon red chili powder
  • ¼ teaspoon cumin powder
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper powder
  • ¼ teaspoon chat masala powder
  • 2 teaspoon lemon juice
  • ¼ teaspoon salt or as per taste

Instructions

  • Wash the vegetable thoroughly and pat dry with help of a kitchen towel. Now remove the stem and chop it into thin slices.
  • Deep fry or shallow fry the lady's fingers.

  • Take yogurt and whisk it well along with spices like red chili powder, cumin powder, black pepper powder, and chat masala powder.

  • Now add more vegetables of your choice. In this recipe, I have added just chopped onion, coriander leaves, and green chilies. 
  • Add fried bhindi to the spicy yogurt mixture just before serving.
  • Serve along with any main dish or biryani.

Notes

To retain the crunch from fried bhindi, add it to the yogurt just before serving.
