Tawa Pulao | Mumbai Street Food ~ Tawa Pulao
Ingredients
- 4 cups cooked rice
- 1 medium onion sliced
- 1 tomato chopped
- 1 tsp grated garlic
- 1 tsp grated ginger
- 1 tsp red chili powder
- 1 tbsp pav bhaji masala
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 1 tsp whole cumin
- 1 cup cooked vegetables of your choice carrot, green peas, potato etc
- ½ cup chopped coriander leaves
- salt to taste
- 3 tbsp cooking oil / butter/ ghee
Instructions
- Heat oil in a flat pan and add 1 tsp whole cumin seeds. Once it crackles, add 1 sliced onion, grated ginger, and grated garlic. Fry till soft and light in color.
- Add 1 chopped tomato, 1 tsp red chili powder, and 1 tbsp pav bhaji masala. Saute on low flame till raw smell disappears. This will take 3 to 4 minutes. Add a few drops of water if needed.
- Add cooked rice and vegetables and toss well with spices till well combined. Season with salt and lemon juice.
- Cook for 1 minute on medium high heat and add chopped coriander leaves.
- Serve hot with Raita.
