I know this is not the best season for salads, as we crave soups more in the chilled weather. But I promise to bring you a variety of soup recipes as well.
Today I chose this recipe because a salad is something that does not need a cooking process, at least for most of them. You can just chop up whatever is at hand and drizzle a simple dressing over it. I do make non-vegetarian salads that have grilled chicken in them only when I have the leftovers.
Salads can be a healthy quick-fix meal if a healthy dressing is used. You can turn a salad into a complete meal by just adding some boiled pasta and any kind of grilled meat.
The word ‘Salad’ comes from the French word ‘salade’ or in Latin ‘Salata’ which actually means ‘Salt’. Back in those days, a mixture of vegetables was seasoned with salt or salty-oil dressing and this is how it gets its name. Peach salad is nothing but an Indian version of salsa, seasoned with more Indian spices. You can check out a similar recipe called Mango Salsa where I have used mango instead of peaches.
