Ingredients used in Butter Garlic Mushrooms
The ingredients used in the Butter garlic Mushroom recipe are the basic ones. Almost all the ingredients will be available in your kitchen pantry at all times.
Mushrooms
Here I have used white button mushrooms as it is easily available any time of the year. These varieties are cheap and easy to clean and prep. You can also use other varieties such as shitake, cremini, portabello, etc.
Onion
It is not mandatory to use onions. You can make butter garlic mushrooms even without adding onions. In this recipe, I have used red onion. Remember to chop the onions as thinly as possible.
Garlic
This ingredient is a primary one and cannot be skipped. Garlic adds a fresh umami flavor to the dish apart from so many health benefits. If you have noticed, garlic is not added to the oil and is sauteed as usual. It is added mid-way while cooking the mushrooms. By doing this, a lot of flavor and aroma of garlic can be maintained. The secret is to finely chop or crush the garlic.
Parsley
This herb has a fresh taste and is loaded with flavors. You can very well substitute parsley with coriander leaves or with spring onion as well.
Red Chili Flakes & Crushed Black Pepper
These two ingredients are used for adding a dash of spice to the dish. The other alternative to these ingredients is finely chopped green chilies. You can also use smoked paprika too.
Butter & Olive Oil
As the title of the dish suggests Butter is also a primary ingredient. Butter is added in the last and final step so that it doesn’t burn while the mushrooms are cooking. However, olive oil can be substituted with any other kind of cooking oil.
Lemon Juice
The tanginess from lemon juice actually balances out the level of spice. This ingredient gives a refreshing flavor to the entire dish.
