Ever since I have started making this Bhindi Raita, it is now my all-time favorite dip. Moreover, this raita is also my option for a healthy dinner.
I always make it a point to serve a complete and nutritious meal to my family. Raita is one easy dish that is not only easy to make but also a dish that completes the missing nutrition from the main meal.
What Is Bhindi Raita?
Bhindi Raita is a fusion salad dip kind of accompaniment usually served along with a main-course dish.
Fried okra or bhindi is added to chilled yogurt along with other spices. Whereas, simple raita is made just with yogurt and spices.
How to make Bhindi Raita?
Instead of making bhindi, in the same way, all the time, why not give this a twist and make it more interesting.
Step by step method of making Bhindi Raita
- First of all, you need to wash the vegetable thoroughly and pat dry with help of a kitchen towel. Now remove the stem and chop it into thin slices. Deep fry or shallow fry the lady’s fingers.
- Take yogurt and whisk it well along with spices like red chili powder, cumin powder, black pepper powder, and chat masala powder.
- Now add more vegetables of your choice along with fried bhindi. In this recipe, I have added just chopped onion, coriander leaves, and green chilies.
- You can add more veggies as you wish. For example, grated carrot, pomegranate arils, chopped cucumber, chopped tomato, etc.
- Remember to add fried bhindi/lady’s finger/okra to the spicy yogurt mixture just before serving. This helps in retaining the crunchiness of the fried vegetable.
