What other vegetables can be added to Dates and Walnut Dinner salad?
In this salad, we have added ingredients like cucumber, tomato, capsicum, apple, chickpeas, and lettuce as raw vegetables & fruits. However, you can add other vegetables of your choice as well.
Other vegetables & fruits that can be added to this salad are:
- peeled & diced oranges
- sliced carrots
- cherry tomatoes
- finely chopped cabbage
- grapes
- pomegranate
- sliced radish

- diced avocados
Substitute for chickpeas:
- cooked kidney beans or any other beans

Equipment
- Mixing Bowl
Ingredients
- 1 cucumber large
- 1 tomato
- 1 capsicum small
- 1 apple diced
- ½ cup chickpeas cooked
- 1 cup lettuce roughly chopped
- 12 walnuts chopped
- 5 dates chopped
Salad Dressing
- 2 tablespoon yogurt
- 1 tablespoon mayonnaise
- 1 teaspoon mustard sauce
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon honey
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- ½ teaspoon garlic grated/paste/crushed
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper powder
Instructions
For Salad Dressing
- Mix all the dressing ingredients in a bowl. Refrigerate until needed.2 tablespoon yogurt, 1 tablespoon mayonnaise, 1 teaspoon mustard sauce, 1 tablespoon lemon juice, 1 teaspoon honey, 1 teaspoon dried oregano, 1/2 teaspoon garlic, 1/4 teaspoon salt, 1/2 teaspoon black pepper powder
Salad
- Chop all the salad vegetables and mix all remaining ingredients in a large mixing bowl.1 cucumber, 1 tomato, 1 capsicum, 1 apple, 1/2 cup chickpeas, 1 cup lettuce, 12 walnuts, 5 dates
- Add the dressing just before serving the salad.
