Chicken in Garlic Sauce
Ingredients
For the marinade:
- 500 grams boneless chicken cubes
- 1 tsp garlic & ginger paste each
- ½ tsp salt
- 1 tsp pepper
- 1 egg
- 3 tbsp cornflour
For the Sauce:
- 4 tablespoon finely chopped garlic 6-7 big size garlic
- 1 tbsp chopped white portion of spring onion
- ½ cup chopped green spring onion.
- 1 medium size capsicum chopped in cubes
- 2 tsp chili powder
- 2 small cups of chicken stock/water
- 2 tbsp tomato sauce
- 1 tbsp tomato puree
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1 tbsp vinegar
- 3 tsp cornflour mixed with 1/2 cup water
Instructions
- Mix all the above ingredients together and keep covered for about 1 hr. Deep fry chicken pieces in medium hot oil and set aside.
- Heat 2 tbsp oil in a small wok and fry garlic until light golden. Then add chopped onion, capsicum along with fried chicken pieces and fry for 1 min on high heat.
- Lower the heat and add rest of the ingredients – red chili powder, tomato sauce, tomato puree, soy sauce, sugar, 2 cups water, and vinegar. Add salt only if needed.
- Bring to a boil and slowly add cornflour mixture little by little according to the thickness you need.
- Cook for a couple of minutes and finally add chopped green spring onion.
