You will like this one because it is very easy to prepare and it took about less than 30 minutes to prepare this and also a very good option as a quick snack for ur unexpected guests. You will find the original recipe in Edible Garden. By the way, you can use any cooked filling instead of paneer. I tried with chicken filling it was equally great. You can even try this as an Iftar dish in Ramadan.
Bread Paneer Rolls
Ingredients
- 1 cup paneer Cottage cheese crumbled
- 1 small onion chopped
- ½ teaspoon red chili powder
- ½ teaspoon roasted cumin powder
- ¼ teaspoon garam masala powder
- ½ teaspoon ginger garlic paste
- ¼ cup chopped fresh coriander leaves
- 1 tablespoon tomato ketchup
- 4 slices of bread Jumbo
- ½ cup grated cheddar cheese optional
- 2 tablespoon oil
- Butter to toast
- Salt as required
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl combine paneer, red chili powder, garam masala, fresh coriander, roasted cumin powder, and salt.
- Heat oil in a pan and fry onion till soft and pink. Add ginger and garlic paste, cook for a min. Now add paneer mixture and cook for a min and mix well. Set aside to cool.
- Remove the crust from the bread slices and roll out each slice of bread into a thin sheet using a rolling pin (bhelan). Place the filling on one end of the slice and some cheese, gently start rolling the bread with filling intact. Three folds maximum u can make…so its better if u take a jumbo bread slice for this. Repeat the procedure with all slices and smear soft butter over them.
- Heat a nonstick and lightly toast the bread rolls till golden and crisp.
- Serve hot with green chutney or spicy tomato sauce.
