Kadhai Paneer
Ingredients
- 250 grams paneer
- 1 tablespoon grated garlic
- 1 tablespoon grated ginger
- 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
- 1 medium size onion roughly chopped
- 1 medium size tomato chopped
- 1 small capsicum chopped into cubes
- 1 small onion chopped in cubes
- 2 green chilies chopped
- ½ teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1 teaspoon red chili powder
- 1 teaspoon coriander powder
- 1 teaspoon crushed kasoori methi
- 1 tablespoon tomato puree +1 tbsp yogurt mixed together
- 1 tablespoon tomato sauce
- ¼ teaspoon garam masala
- 1 tablespoon fresh cream
- 1 tablespoon chopped pudina mint
- 1 tablespoon chopped coriander
- Salt to taste
- 3 tablespoon oil + 1 tablespoon butter
Instructions
- Heat oil and butter in a pan. Add cumin seeds and let it crackle.
- Now add ginger and garlic and fry for few seconds till aromatic.
- Then add onion along with green chilies and fry till onions are soft and pink.
- Add tomatoes and cook till oil separates. Now add spices like turmeric powder, coriander powder, red chili powder, kasoori methi, and a mixture of tomato puree and yogurt. Stir well and add capsicum and onion cubes.
- Place the lid and cook along with salt on a low flame. In this dish, we don’t have to add any water so try to keep the flame low.
- Avoid overcooking of capsicum, so accordingly open the lid and add tomato sauce, paneer cubes, and garam masala powder.
- Stir well and finally add fresh cream, chopped mint
